Questions about using Reiki with your religion?
The short answer is - it's your decision.
For me, I put a lot of thought and prayer into taking on this work. Reiki is religiously neutral. People are free to continue with any religious belief they have previously chosen and in fact people of all religious beliefs practice Reiki.
For me, the Reiki Universal Healing Energy was created by God/Love/Spirit/Universe/All-That-Is - whatever you choose to call your Higher Power - or not). It is "spiritually guided life force energy". The word Reiki (rākē or Ray-Key) comes from the Japanese word (Rei) which means "God's Wisdom - Higher Power - Universal Life" and (Ki) which means "Life Force Energy". Reiki Universal Healing Energy will always go to the highest good when you are open to receive it.
- Reiki provides me a wonderful way to make use of this healing energy from my Higher Power.
- When giving or receiving Reiki treatments, I ask God/Love/Spirit/Universe/All-That-Is to work through me (but not OF me) and allow the healing energy to flow through me (as a channel) to the client.
- I recognize and show appreciation to God/Love/Spirit/Universe/All-That-Is for
the creation of universal healing energy. I have found that asking for
additional healing power from the Angels is very effective.
- My
connection to God/Love/Spirit/Universe/All-That-Is becomes very
powerful and reinforces my knowing that healing and love is always
available.
- Reiki brings me close to God/Love/Spirit/Universe/All-That-Is because as a method of healing, it helps me fulfill my calling to help others.
